Saranac Commons Grand Opening
Ready, set, GO! At long last, all five of West Main’s newest kids on the block are open for business, and will be joining together to celebrate the Saranac Commons Grand Opening festivities this weekend. The whole community is invited to come in and check it out – music, art, food, fun and drink at 19 West Main. You can’t miss it – it’s the brightly colored garage door entrance sandwiched right between The Saranac and Merlyn’s on the coolest stretch of street in Spokane.
Meet up with friends at the Commons on Friday June 5th and from 7 til 9 you’ll get to hear the fabulous Sally Jablonski making music right alongside her incredible paintings. She’ll be followed by a set from 9 til 11 by Brad Pancake. Saturday the 6th, 5 more local musicians are in the line-up from noon til 10 – Madeleine McNeill, Michael and Keleren Millham, Abe Kenney, Todd Milne/Moksha and Tommy G.
All five locally owned and operated businesses at the Commons are geared up and ready for you – Caffe Affogato right there on the left as you enter offers you specialty coffees and ice cream. If you’re in the mood for something more substantial, on your right you will find the Persian-inspired bistro, Mediterrano. Or, maybe you’d like to wander deeper into the space where you’ll find sweet and savory treats from The Common Crumb Bakery or order a tall cold one served up by the owners of Black Label Brewery.
Not in the mood to eat or drink? Check out the organic and regionally made bed bath and cleaning products from Sun People Dry Goods.
All these businesses will be offering a “Passport to the Commons.” Customers who patronize all five businesses will get a stamp and be entered to win a gift basket including gift cards and items from each store.
If you are interested in coming to the Commons just to admire and enjoy the space, there is plenty to see, including the huge bottle chandelier installation titled: Away by Brian Martin, Alex Robinson, and Valerie Wahl. Alex and Val will be available for an artist meet-and-greet from 6-8 on Friday.
